Building a set in Set Lab

Set Lab holds your library, builds sets, and exports back to Rekordbox.

Get your library in

The fastest path is Rekordbox sync.

1. Open Set Lab, then Library, then Import.
2. Point at your Rekordbox XML or USB.
3. Tracks come in with whatever metadata Rekordbox holds. Anything missing gets enriched in order: Discogs, MusicBrainz, Deezer.
4. If a track has no embedding yet, it is invisible to search. Wait for enrichment to finish before searching for fresh imports.

Search and explore

Type plain language into the search bar.

• "late-night dub with vocal samples"
• "high-energy peak time around 130"
• "warmup at 110 bpm in C minor"

Set Lab finds what matches by sound, not just text fields. The search uses semantic embeddings, so it understands feel and context, not just keywords.

Build a set

1. Click + Set, name it, link it to a gig if you have one. Linking matters because the gig pass picks up the linked set.
2. Drag tracks in from search results or your library.
3. The energy graph shows the curve as you build. Reorder until the shape matches the slot you are playing: warmup, peak, closing.

Export

Set Lab exports back to Rekordbox XML, ready to drop on a USB.

What Set Lab will not do

• It will not guess. If Rekordbox does not have a BPM and the enrichment cascade cannot find one, the field stays empty. Better than fake data showing up in your set notes.
