When a DJ drops something you do not recognise, hit Track ID. Phone in pocket, mic open, 10 seconds.
How to use it
On mobile: open Signal Lab, tap SCAN in the bottom bar, tap the big red Track ID button. Listening starts, countdown shows. Hold the phone reasonably close to the speaker.
On desktop: the dashboard has a Track ID button in the top action row. Same flow, same 10-second window, mic-based.
What happens after a match
If the system gets a confident match, the track lands in your library automatically. No extra clicks. Artist, title, label, and where available BPM, key, and album art all populate via the enrichment cascade.
You can find every IDed track in /setlab/library with a filter for tracks discovered via Track ID, if you want a list of just floor finds.
When it will not ID
- Too noisy or too far from the speakers
- Track is unreleased or off the recognition catalogue
- The DJ is mixing two tracks and the audio is too blended
In those cases you will see "not found" and the recording is discarded. The system does not guess. Either it is right, or it is nothing. This is a hard rule because a fake track ID showing up in your set is worse than no result.
What the recording is used for
The 10 seconds of audio is sent to the recognition service to identify the track. It is not stored, not shared, and not used for anything else. Once the result returns, the audio is gone.
